I cannot stress enough how disastrous my experience was with Forsyth Holtzman & Associates. This individual not only failed to uphold their fiduciary duty but also directly caused me to be audited by the IRS due to their blatant violation of several standards of care. We have worked with Forsyth Holtzman for about 4 years. We honestly felt Josh Forsyth of Forsyth Holtzman & Associates were above board and trusted in their ability while completing our tax returns. Fast forward to November 2024, sitting across from our IRS Auditor while she explains why we were being audited in the first place at the end of an 11-month ordeal, it was clear Forsyth Holtzman & Associates lacked the basic competence and ethical responsibility required for their role. They repeatedly ignored critical details in our financial records, failed to ask necessary questions to ensure accuracy, and made reckless decisions that put my family and I at significant risk. Their disregard for proper accounting practices was shocking, and it became painfully obvious that they were more interested in cutting corners than providing quality service. The most egregious violation was their failure to adhere to the **Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)** and **IRS regulations**. They incorrectly categorized expenses, overstated deductions, and failed to report income accurately—all of which are basic responsibilities of any competent accountant. AGAIN NONE OF THIS HAS BEEN MADE UP! These errors were not minor oversights; they were glaring mistakes that any professional with even a modicum of experience should have avoided. As a result, we were flagged for an audit, which has been an incredibly stressful and costly ordeal. What’s worse, Josh Forsyth and Forsyth Holtzman and Associates showed no remorse or accountability for their actions. When confronted about the audit and the errors that led to it, they were dismissive and attempted to shift the blame onto me. In fact, One of the most shocking and unethical actions Josh Forsyth took was lying to me about communication with the IRS. They explicitly stated that they had spoken with an IRS agent who informed them that penalties would not be waived. Based on this false information, they pressured me multiple times to sign an **expired IRS document**, claiming it was necessary to move forward. Trusting their supposed expertise, I reluctantly signed the document, only to discover later that $22,000.00 in penalties had, in fact, **already been waived by the IRS**. This revelation was devastating. Not only had Josh Forsyth recklessly falsified information, but they had also misled me into signing an expired document for no reason. This level of dishonesty is inexcusable and raises serious questions about their moral compass. An accountant is supposed to act in their client's best interest, but Josh Forsyth deliberately misrepresented the situation, causing unnecessary stress and confusion. This lack of professionalism and integrity is unacceptable, especially from someone who is supposed to act in their client's best interest. To make matters even more frustrating, they violated the **AICPA Code of Professional Conduct**, which requires accountants to act with due care, objectivity, and integrity. Josh Forsyth did none of these things. Their work was riddled with errors, they failed to communicate clearly, and they showed a complete lack of regard for the consequences of their actions. This is not someone who should be trusted with anyone’s finances. In summary, Josh Forsyth/Forsyth Holtzman and Associates is a liability, not an asset. Their incompetence, negligence, and ethical failures have cost me time, money, and immense stress. Review of Forsyth Holtzman Certified Public Accountants: I wish I could give zero stars for the abysmal service I received from Joshua Brandon Forsyth and Forsyth Holzman CPA. My experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my story to warn others. When I hired Mr. Forsyth I expected a professional who would uphold their fiduciary duty to me as a client. Instead, I was met with negligence, violation of several standards of care, and a complete lack of communication. Over the course of handling my taxes for 2021, 2022, and 2023, this accountant managed to turn my financial life upside down. Their failure to ask clarifying questions led to a series of mistakes that resulted in an IRS audit for three consecutive years. I now owe a staggering $78,000 to the IRS, all because this so-called "professional" was in too much of a rush and couldn’t be bothered to pick up the phone or send an email to clarify important details. It’s mind-boggling to think that someone in their position would neglect such a critical aspect of their job. In fact, his solution to our problem was to take 4 days to "review past emails", send a 1 sided falsified C.Y.A email, and offer us a credit towards services for our 2024, 2025, and 2026 tax returns. Why in the world would he think any one would want his company to complete 3 more years of returns when he botched the previous 3 years is beyond me. The lack of accountability is infuriating. I trusted Josh Forsyth to handle my financial matters responsibly, yet he chose to ignore red flags and left me to deal with the fallout. The stress and anxiety of dealing with an audit, not to mention the financial burden, have taken a toll on my life. The audit has been on going since Late October 2024 and recently completed in February 2025. Needless to say, our holidays were terrible. If you are considering hiring Josh Forsyth, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. I have EVERY communication with his firm. I am willing to share with anyone who wants to review. Save yourself the headache and heartache that comes with trusting someone who clearly does not take their responsibilities seriously. A good accountant should not only possess technical skills but also communicate effectively and prioritize their clients' best interests. Unfortunately, Joshua Brandon Forsyth failed miserably on all fronts. In short, this experience has been a disaster, and I am left to pick up the pieces due to their incompetence.
