Jim has been a pleasure to work with on our personal taxes and filing taxes for our S-Corp. He helped us with tax planning to better our situation when filing our taxes. He is extremely professional and responsive answering all of our questions. I am happy I was referred to him from my fellow colleagues, and I look forward to working again this year.

I just had the very worst experience with any business I’ve ever had in my entire life. I visited Doherty & Associates in January of 2023 had a consultation for about 10 minutes and was charged $300 during the consultation she brought up the fact she needed to get paid for the consult in order to continue. (Very unprofessional ). However, I gave her my credit card. She promised to work hard on our taxes. I submitted all our tax documents in January!! Called and emailed Debbie and her team on a regular basis for updates on the status of filings. On every occasion Debbie or her secretary assured us that everything was going well. She told us we are reviewing your taxes and any day now look out for invoices and forms you need to sign. And nothing. I called the office and her secretary told me She’s in the hospital another time she’s away on business Excuse after excuse!! That brings us to April. I emailed Debbie once again to ask if she filed an extension because obviously April is tax month. She assured me that she would file an extension for my wife and I not to worry. A month goes by. By now I am having difficulty believing anything Debbie says, so I called the IRS and wasn’t surprised to find out no extension was filed on our behalf. At that point I emailed Debbie and told her we will be taking our business elsewhere. What made me upset wasn’t the fact she didn’t provide the services she promised. It was her response. She blamed us for not submitting documents on time which was a total lie. Just a clever way of not taking responsibility. Stay clear of this business!!

I have been using Doherty & Associates for several years now and have always been completely satisfied with their great service. I recently brought an issue directly to Debbie Doherty and was blown away by the service and response to my needs. I was treated with respect and patience, and received a completely explanatory response in practically no time. There had to have been work required to provide me with the answers I needed and yet there was no additional fees ! Would highly recommend Doherty & Associates for your tax needs if you are looking for professional customer service.
