Looking for a CPA after relocating to the area and this location was ell rated on Google. I was here for the first time in mid February and met with Dairel. We talked about what I needed, listened to some stories, and had a pretty pleasant experience. I was advised that his office wouldn't be able to prepare my taxes until after the first week of March. That wasn't a problem for me so I went on my way. March 15 I reached out for the first time and was told that my return should be completed by the next week. March 27 arrives and I've still heard nothing so I reach out again. This time I was told that they should hopefully be completed by that Saturday (Mar 30). That Monday (Apr 1), having not heard anything and being 11 business days away from the filing deadline I sent yet another email asking if I needed to make other preparation plans to avoid late fees. I then got a couple of replies letting me know that my return was now done and that Dairel had responded to me and hadn't heard anything back. Which was true that he responded, but Dairel didn't ask a question in his email, just let me know that my return was completed. After all of this, at least I can file electronically, right? Think again! I had to drive 30 minutes back into Poplar Bluff to physically sign something (in 2024!). I wouldn't think any different of it if I hadn't filed my taxes 100% remotely in 3 of the prior 4 years. I make it into the office and still have not received so much as an apology for the delay, let alone a discount of what seem to be pretty steep charges for a 'per form' filing. I may feel differently about the fee if anyone had explained any parts of my Federal or State filings to me. I was just advised to sign the docs, here's what you get back, here's what you owe, bye. The CPA preparing my return couldn't even be bothered to briefly explain what they had filed. I asked about my 2022 review that I had asked for in my initial appointment and a woman emerged from an office, didn't introduce herself, and told me that they wouldn't be able to look at that until after the deadline, it's coming up fast you know! (you don't say?) I then asked if there would be a separate fee for this filing and I was advised that of course, yes there would be. Apr 15 I reached out for hopefully my last time. I asked them to please not do any additional filings on me for 2022 and I would come get my paperwork (since they have previously demonstrated they can't work electronically). I was then informed that they have no paperwork for me, it was all returned to me when I was in last, and that I had been told this in a conversation I supposedly had with Dairel. I had no such conversation, but thank goodness I will not have to have any more with this place. I don't feel that my business was valued by this establishment at all and will be looking elsewhere next year.

Dairel Denton took our taxes on a couple years ago when we were audited by IRS and told there were mistakes. Dairel Denton took the proper amount of time to review all my records for that tax year and came back with a different conclusion and disputed that we did NOT owe what IRS said and we flew threw the process after that and he made us feel at ease and we had no more issues after he stepped in and he saved us money in the long run and I'd rather pay someone for their expertise and it's correct than pay the Government $$ they didn't deserve and out of our pocket! Dairel and his staff are always thorough and friendly and makes u understand why everyone should never take their taxes no matter how simple you think they are, a CPA knows more possible problem areas and helps you avoid needless contact from the IRS. If you have potential future or past issues that could be complicated, avoid any issues and just take them to the experts at Dairel Denton & Associates! Kristi & David Jackson Piedmont, MO

It took Dairel Denton & Associates over a month to process my State and Federal Tax Returns. They completed them one day prior to the extended submission due date (July 15). When I arrived to pick them up, no explanation or advice was given to me on my taxes...the receptionist handed me my paperwork (what I had given them) and told me how much I owed to the Federal and State. I didn't even get a copy of the completed tax paperwork (you have to log into their portal to download and print off your own copy). Also, they will electronically file them for you before you have a chance to review them. I felt the fee (over $600) was a bit excessive. I never received a call from them to let me know my taxes were done...I had to keep calling to get updates. I won't use them again.

I have used a couple different accountants in my lifetime and Dairel Denton's office is by far the best experience that I have ever had with an accountant. I am a FIRM believer that you get what you pay for. If you want advice from an expert, you will get just that at this office! I own 2 businesses and Dairel spent hours with me at our first meeting going over my business and personal tax information. He gave me so much insight on our business and things that I could/should do differently for the future of my family and our businesses. I cannot thank them enough for their help this tax season. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants their taxes done accurately and timely.

This past tax season, we had our taxes done with Darrel Denton and Associates. We will definitely use them from now on. We also did some investing as well with them Meredith took the time to ask lots of questions to make sure we were doing the right thing. I HIGHLY recommend them.
