360 Financial Group

My wife and I solicited the services of 360 financial when our accountant had retired and sent a letter to us recommending Carl and his firm to handle out yearly taxes. Carl isn’t a CPA, he is CFP, he is not an accountant he is a financial planner. CLIFF NOTES: I wish I would have sought the services of another firm based on these reasons. The first area of concern is when I had reviewed Google for feedback about 360 financial, overall I was not too impressed with the feedback but took in consideration that a lot of people will use the internet to voice an opinion based on “cyber revenge”. 360 financial’s mission statement proclaims a “holistic approach” to their method of services; considering what a holistic approach actually means I found it very concerning that this psychology exercise would be leveraged in an accountant’s mathematical service but I will get to that later. The second issue of concern resulted after a phone conversation with the gentleman preparing my taxes, he stated the home office that has been used for book keeping, client scheduling and other labor associated with running a small business was not applicable as a deduction. For countless years prior the home office has been a deduction. Third is what we call, the 1099 fiasco; which is required for the space that is rented for business operations. 360 financial requested the wrong information to provide landlord and then questioned my wife over the information, stated they were uncomfortable creating the 1099 due to ethical reasoning. Does this group do taxes for any other small business that rent space? This 1099 should not be an issue because it never has been for countless years prior. Forth, upon reviewing the taxes, the amount of overall deductions listed were a fraction of what they have been in the past, meaning, all the documentation I have provided for the operational expenses of the business were not even considered. These operational expenses have been leveraged by the retired accountant for countless years as applicable tax deductions. Fifth, the overall bill to produce the documents needed to file taxes, which exceeded $800. Never have we ever paid that amount for tax services, ever. This amount is nearly triple of what we have paid for historically for the same service. We did not file their prepared documents and hired a new firm to review our documentation versus what 360 financial provided. I was never contacted to discuss our holistic needs so that the firm or any agent at the firm understood what was important to me. I would strongly encourage you to take your business elsewhere, this service requires trust and confidence of those preparing these documents on your behalf and we have neither for 360 financial.

We have been using this firm for our tax and accounting needs for over 20 years and have always had full cooperation and appreciate all their help when needed. Great service!
